interzum 2023: ICDLI presents HPL Gallery in Cologne

Frankfurt, 2023-04-05. The leading international trade fair for furniture production and interior design, interzum, is back in the Cologne exhibition halls – and the ICDLI (International Committee of the Decorative Laminates Industry aisbl) will be there from 9 to 12 May: Our HPL Gallery offers the international trade fair public the entire range of attractive HPL decor designs as well as a wide variety of information on the performance properties of the material system. The main theme of interzum, "neo-ecology", is also in focus: the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for HPL and HPL-Compact impressively document at the ICDLI trade fair presentation how HPL companies fulfil their social responsibility for climate protection and resource conservation with sustainable products and process steps.

Due to Corona, only a digital version of the fair, interzum @home2021, took place in 2021. This year, the who's who of the furniture and interior design world will once again come to Cologne for four days to find out about innovations and new products from all over the world. If you want to take a look at the exciting, versatile and universal HPL material system, Hall 5.2, Stand: G79 is the place to be. Whether for indoor or outdoor use, for kitchen and office furniture, damp rooms, doors, worktops or facades: The ICDLI will be presenting the diverse areas of application for HPL with decor examples to touch and look at.

Another important focal point is the HPL Compendium as a central component of the ICDLI knowledge initiative on the material system. Here, fabricators, suppliers and architects as well as the specialists of tomorrow will find everything they need to know about the production, processing and application of the material. Just in time for the start of interzum, the compendium is now available in four language versions, namely German, English, Italian and – brand new – Turkish.

Tracking down the ecological footprint of HPL

In times of climate crisis and species extinction, it is quite clear: performance is not everything. The HPL Gallery therefore provides information on the ecological footprint and environmental compatibility of HPL and HPL-Compact with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). In addition to the low Global Warming Potential during production, the material class scores particularly well in the life cycle assessments with its long life span. The EPDs are renewed every five years and provide architects, planners, engineers and builders with fresh information on HPL for sustainable building.
